Authorised Mental Health Practitioners- Review of Skills Program

Venue: Gascoyne House, Graylands Hospital

The next AMHP course is on 30 November, 1 and 2 December 2009 (3 days in total). Mental health practitioners (Registered/ Comprehensive nurses, Social Workers, Psychologists or Occupational Therapists with at least 3 years experience in the management of persons with mental illness) can be nominated by their manager if the manager feels that an AMHP is required for the service. The nominated person must be willing to be nominated and to undertake the 3 day training program. After completion of the program the mental health practitioner may choose to become an AMHP and be put on the Register of AMHPs held by the Chief Psychiatrist. There are only a limited number of places available for this training.
